After planting trees for almost a decade, the only change I would make is joining Thicket earlier.

Frequently asked questions

We’re always keeping our eye out for high quality, experienced planters to join our team. We look favourably on applicants with previous planting experience or other degrees and certifications like horticulture, conservation or nursery experience.

As we continue to grow and expand into other areas of the country, we’ll look to bring on leaders and managers to fill those roles.

Send us an email, or fill out the form on the careers page. Please include your resume and experience, and if you sound like the right fit, we’ll be in touch.

We plant 5, and often 6 days a week, all year round. Planting can be a tough job, so we promote a high level of flexibility and freedom to choose the days that you want to work. Some planters like a 2 day week to work around their studies, and others opt for 6 to maximise their earnings!

Always! We’ve previously hired internally for senior management positions, are able to sponsor longer term planters for citizenship, and are open to funding additional training and certifications for planters who are wanting to broaden their skill set and career opportunities.

We hold ourselves to the highest possible standard in terms of plant quality, professionalism and attitude. Having some of the basics down already is a big win. Whether that is plant identification through conservation or horticulture studies.

Whether you understand the nature of the work, with planting or landscaping experience. Or whether you would be a good fit for a Team Lead position, with project management, site plan knowledge, and expert people skills.

For the most part, yes. The vast majority of our planting work centres around Australian natives like dianella, lomandra, grevillea, westringia, correa and acacia. This is what Australian soil knows best, and helps retain and enhance the natural biodiversity.

However we also plant non native species as feature trees in new developments, but these are often limited to fruit trees, like Olive, Cherry and Pear!
