In the civil space, we have planted hundreds of thousands of plants on major roads projects like Westgate, Hall Rd, and Koo Wee Rup including regeneration works on the highway fringes. We have done well over a million plants on major rail infrastructure projects in Cranbourne, Geelong, Pakenham in conjunction with level crossing removals for Parkville, Keon Parade, Glen Huntly and Marshall just to name a few.
We’ve assisted with Barwon and Dame Phylis Frost prisons, completed the Spirit of Tasmania port and countless other major infrastructure and big build projects.
Civil Feature Project: Marshall Rail LXRPs and Corridor
Timeline: Mid – Late 2024
Over the span of five months, our team planted close to 150,000x tubestock, 50,000x 140mm pots, and over a thousand 45L trees, along with stakes and ties across both Marshall and South Geelong train stations, and the five kilometer corridor in between.
Navigating weather delays, complicated site inductions, rail restrictions and compliance, strict safety and PPE protocols, intricate landscape drawings, and stop-start project staging, we provided detailed and efficient planting, staking, and general labour across the job, to ensure this major infrastructure project was completed on time and within budget.
Despite working concurrently on hundreds of other projects, we were flexible to our clients needs, sending between two and ten workers daily as required, offering consistent team leadership and limited personnel rotations throughout the project. We are honoured to have been involved in such an important infrastructure initiative, greening the state’s rail network and new stations.
We’ve helped complete over a thousand commercial projects including reserves, schools, data centers, warehouses, hospitals, large-scale developments, community centers and other open spaces. Some selected projects include Ikon Park Stadium, Murrumbeena Community Hub, Aqualink, Amaroo Warehouse, Minta Reserve and Latrobe University.
We’ve installed tens of thousands of 45L streetscapes in estates like Peppercorn, Elliston, Aurora, Five Farms, St Germain and Cloverton and millions of 140mm pots and tubes in the associated entry roads, corridors, sales offices and reserves.
Commercial Feature Project: Jubilee and Eynesbury Estates
Timeline: Late 2022
The team at Thicket planting installed approximately 3,000x 45L-75L streetscape trees, 10,000x 140mm pots, and 75,000x tubestock across both Jubilee and Eynesbury estates. In addition to planting, we had various clusters of large scale tree guarding works, as well as installing stakes and ties to all the mature trees.
Requiring a tight three week turnaround to hit practical completion in late November, our teams worked around the clock in wet and windy conditions to finish the job. Despite weekend work, delivery delays, complex site plans, and large pockets of compacted ground, and we were still able to complete this project on time and within tight budget constraints.
We specialise in both bush and waterway regeneration. We have planted millions of native shrubs, grasses and aquatics in wetlands, drainage corridors and bioretention basins. We have been a part of installation and maintenance works on well over one hundred wetland and waterway plantings including Monument, Lara Lakes, Alira, Elliston, Mt Duneed, Kinbrook, Willowbank, Newgate and Kingsfield.
Out in the bush, we have worked on habitat restoration in Colac and Monegeetta, carbon offset work out past Bendigo and Shepparton, solar farm revegetation in Wunghnu, and mine rehabilitation works in Clunes and Dunnstown. We’ve planting and guarded hundreds of thousands of indigenous trees, helping revegetate Australia’s natural bushland.
Revegetation Feature Project: Armstrong Creek
Timeline: Mid 2022 – Early 2024
Over a two year span, we worked alongside our client to rehabilitate and revegetate the Armstrong Creek creekline and its surrounding areas. Spanning over a kilometre and delivered in multiple stages, we planted tens of thousands of native tubestock, shrubs and mature trees. Much of this work was done within an environmental protection zone and had plants sourced directly from local provenance nurseries to strengthen ecological resilience.
Additionally, we installed thousands of square metres of jute matting along the creek to control erosion, stabilise the banks, and suppress weeds. We also installed thousands of corflute and cardboard tree guards to protect plants from disruptive fauna. Plant growth has quickly taken hold and the riverbanks are already stabilising naturally, ensuring the creekline’s continued health and resilience while supporting the ecosystems it sustains.
Working carefully near CHMP areas, we enjoyed rehabilitating and restoring plant coverage to an important Victorian landmark. Local species like Dianella, Ficinia, and Themeda have taken root, and are regenerating across site. Local provenance tube and 140mm stock are integrated with existing vegetation and lay the groundwork for these healthy ecosystems to re-establish. This regeneration not only supports native wildlife but also contributes to long-term habitat creation and strengthens the creekline itself, enhancing its stability and ecological function for years to come.
While nothing is guaranteed, we’re mighty confident in saying yes! From over 1,000 projects completed, we have never failed Practical Completion for planting. As Australia’s leading contract mass planting company, we provide the highest standard of plant quality, and offer free rectifications if something is not quite up to scratch on our end.
Of course! Whether your site requires WWCC (Working with Childrens Checks), WAH (Working at Heights), RIW (Rail Compliance), Asbestos Awareness, First Aid, or just a White Card, we have the people and the training to ensure all induction boxes are ticked.
Simply give us a call! We understand that schedules and issues pop up at the last minute. If you’re planting trees and tubestock on a large scale, this doesn’t happen at the drop of a hat. We’re open to both last minute cancellations and bookings, and are comfortable working around your timelines, however late that may be!
Our schedule chops and changes to accommodate dozens of live projects at once. We’re used to the last minute calls and changing plans so if you have plants that need planting, we’ll be there. That said, the more notice you can give the better!
Let’s discuss how we can bring your tree planting project to life.
